D2E have an exciting opportunity for a Vertical Transportation & Façade Access Consultancy Apprenticeship. This diverse role gives the successful candidate the opportunity to work within the various services and areas of D2E’s company over 2 years to gain training and knowledge of a consultancy whilst undertaking a Level 4 Project Manager qualification on day release at Newham College.

Throughout the 2 years you, the successful candidate, will shadow/work within the Field Team, Development Team and Asset Management Team at D2E.

Field Team - During this time, you will gain valuable technical knowledge of lifts, escalators and façade access equipment. Days will typically be spent accompanying a field associate on equipment audits, handovers, inspections, as well as supporting the field associate in delivering project assurance for equipment modernisations or replacements.

Development Team - This team provides consultancy for lift, escalator and façade access strategies and equipment for new buildings. You will support the team in writing of reports, traffic and people flow analysis, delivery of 2D and 3D equipment drawings.

Asset Management team - This team provide consultancy services to our Clients who have a large number of lifts, escalators and façade access equipment across their sites. You will support the team with the delivery of this service.

During your apprenticeship, you will gain experience with meetings, building relationships with clients, report writing skills, presentation skills and technical drawing skills.

Following the completion of the apprenticeship, you will become an Associate within an area of D2E, with the opportunities for further growth, education and development to become a fully rounded Vertical Transportation or Façade Access Consultant.

Requirements

The role is suited to someone with an interest in engineering and technical areas, who enjoys troubleshooting and finding practical solutions. It should be noted, however, that the application of engineering knowledge is theoretical and not practical or hands on.

You should have achieved a grade C or above in at least 5 GCSEs including English and Mathematics, and hold a minimum of 48 UCAS points, or equivalent. You should have good reading and writing skills and be confident using Microsoft Office, as well as learning other software.

You will be based in D2E’s London office in Pimlico but will be required to travel around the South East and occasionally the rest of the UK for work. You will have day release to attend Newham College. The role is 37.5 hours per week.
