Nick joined D2E in August 2018 in a Trainee Vertical Transportation Consultant role working predominantly within D2E's design team.
Within his role at D2E, Nick will be involved in the development of vertical transportation solutions through the understanding of Client briefs and delivery of various design reports and specifications. He will utilise various specialist software to develop solutions, as well as having a high competency in the use of AutoCAD, Revit and BIM in order to deliver drawings for projects.
Nick will undertake various ongoing education including LEIA modules, project management training and the further development of AutoCAD and Revit skills. His ongoing development at D2E will allow Nick to grow to become a fully rounded Vertical Transportation Consultant.
Nick graduated from Heriot Watt University with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering. During his degree, Nick gained valuable knowledge in subjects such as Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Material Science and Stress Analysis. His final year thesis focused on supplying clean sources of renewable energy to an off-grid Island using a combination of Hydro-Power and Wind energy in order to produce and store energy generated into lead-acid batteries. The project was estimated to be cost-effective and sustainable over the course of time.
Following his graduation, Nick worked in field operations for a real estate company, during which he monitored operations agents and client services agents, ensuring daily operational tasks were carried out with maximum accuracy and efficiency, conducted property data analysis and monitored company expenses to ensure a healthy profit was maintained.
