Robin Cheeseright has worked in the lift and escalator industry for over 25 years. He began his career in a commercial role at a major lift company and progressed through the organisation to senior management roles involved in all aspects of lift/escalator manufacturing and installation.
Robin progressed into senior management positions, which required involvement in all aspects of lift and escalator sales, manufacturing, installation and servicing. Through senior operational and staff roles – commercial, service and marketing management. Robin was responsible for the commercial aspects of delivering and maintaining a large number of complex projects onto the business’s maintenance portfolio. In addition, he consulted on, and in a number of cases was responsible for launching global products and services into the UK and Irish market. Robin participated in developing the Otis University, and was also part of the team that developed Otis.com, which helped significantly improve the product offering of Otis.
As one of the founding partners of D2E, Robin has been instrumental in developing D2E into an internationally recognised consultancy that has developed a proven track record in the design of complex and tall buildings. Robin has also been influential in the design of the type of bespoke servicing contracts these types of buildings require. This has been achieved through a clear understanding of customer requirements, an approach that supports the design of the building and an empathy with client’s teams. To facilitate the growth of D2E, Robin has been enthusiastic in supporting the training and development of a culturally diverse group of individuals into a dynamic consultancy that brings fresh ideas to vertical transportation design, and a clear understanding of the long term requirements of building users.
