Automated People Movers, often found in airports or theme parks,  can be used in a range of environments to efficiently move small groups of people directly to a destination.

It is envisaged Personal Rapid Transit (a smaller APM sytstem) may:

• "cover its operating costs, and provide a return which could pay for most, if not all, of its capital costs."
• provide "a level of service which is superior to that available from conventional public transport."
