D2E undertake Thorough Examination Training

In December 2018, T&C Training visited D2E’s offices to deliver Statutory Inspection/Thorough Examination Procedures with regards to Lifts (Passenger/Goods/Disabled), Façade Access Equipment and Escalators. The training was delivered to D2E’s Field Associates to provide a greater understanding of the legislation, process and compliance with the Lifting Operations Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) and the relevant HSE Guidance contained in report 429/2002.

The training consisted of both classroom-based and on-site training with lifts, escalators and façade access equipment. During the four-day course, the team;

  • Were provided a basis of knowledge of LOLER, a company’s requirements, customer responsibilities and processes that need to be in place before conducting thorough examinations
  • Developed and agreed on a scheme of works for conducting a thorough examination
  • Use the scheme of works to conduct examinations of lifts, escalators, scissor lifts, BMU’s and MEWPS

The training concluded with a final assessment that practically assessed associates’ abilities to carry out a Thorough Examination of Vertical Transportation and Façade Access equipment. We are proud to say that all of our associates attending the training passed and are now certified to carry out and record thorough examination inspections.
