Vertical Transportation Masterclass

In September, D2E were delighted to work alongside Apex Lifts to deliver a Vertical Transportation (VT) Masterclass for BNPParibas Real Estate.  The participants ranged from facilities managers to tenant helpdesk personnel.

The aim of the VT Masterclass was to give an overview of lift equipment and expand the knowledge of the BNPPRE operatives in key areas:

• H&S,
• Compliance,
• Legislation and
• Asset Management.

It was an intense day that began at Apex’s technical classroom in Sidcup where the participants were taken through the “Lift Basics”, explaining how a lift works, common faults and a review of the different safety components.

The afternoon session moved to Apex’s head offices, where a mixture of presentations, tutorial videos, and first-hand experience was employed to communicate key messages and information in an interactive and interesting way.

D2E were pleased to showcase one of its educational videos, an 'Introduction to Lifts', accompanied by a supporting factsheet, the aim was to summarise what you need to know and do as the owner and/or operator of a lift. D2E recently created a package of educational videos which aim to provide our Clients with invaluable knowledge about their equipment and the duties that come with it.

The closing session involved a light-hearted knowledge quiz, based on the learning from the whole day with the winner, BNPPRE’s FM Darren Tozer, scoring an amazing 19 out of 20!

We will be planning our next VT Masterclass for Q1 2018, where we hope to have yet another constructive day and educate a whole new set of people on Vertical Transport within a building.
