Robin Cheeseright is a Director within D2E who contributes in the strategic direction of the company, whilst developing teams to support clients, assisting in the development of projects and contributing to resource and financial management.
Robin provides direction and management to the team regarding knowledge development, client support, product delivery and financial input. He is heavily involved with D2E’s clients and understanding of market requirements so as to facilitate new innovations by D2E.
Joining D2E in its early years, Robin has been instrumental in developing D2E into an internationally recognised consultancy that has developed a proven track record in the design of complex and tall buildings as well as being influential in the design of the type of bespoke servicing contracts these unique buildings require. This has been achieved through a clear understanding of customer requirements, an approach that supports the design of the building and an empathy with the client’s team. To facilitate the growth of D2E, Robin has been enthusiastic in supporting the training and development of a culturally diverse group of individuals into a dynamic consultancy that brings fresh ideas to vertical transportation design, and a clear understanding of the long-term requirements of building users.
Robin has a great input industry-wide including as the chairman of the Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitats (CTBUH) Vertical Transportation working group, a contributor to the British Council for Offices (BCO) Vertical Transportation Guide and is a regular speaker at industry conferences.
Beginning in the industry in 1990, Robin began his career in a commercial role at a major lift company and progressed through the organisation to senior management roles involved in all aspects of lift and escalator manufacturing and installation and servicing and has taken on senior operational roles covering commercial, service and marketing management. Robin has overseen a number of complex major design projects and large service portfolios.
