D2E, as members, were pleased to be invited by the Council for Tall Buildings and Urban Habitats (CTBUH) to provide a workshop to Architectural Masters students from the University of Venice on vertical transportation and provide guidance to the students for their Masters' thesis projects.
In the workshop, Robin Cheeseright and Tony Sharp presented a lecture based on their experience on how to approach internal circulation in large and complex buildings and then provided advice and comments on the students presented projects. The students’ projects focused on the integration of advanced rope- less, non-vertical technology into their designs and how this technology will be instrumental in the design of buildings in the future.
Overall, the students found the session and comments extremely valuable and D2E were extremely impressed by the quality of the presentations and the fantastic ideas developed by the students.
