From 2020 BT Openreach (BT) will no longer sell ISDN or PSTN lines to customers or businesses and from 2025 the technology will be switched off altogether, migrating over to IP. BT announced it will switch off all Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) and Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) lines from 2025 switching over to Internet Protocol (IP) Technology, predominantly Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). Unfortunately, ISDN and PSTN circuits still support most business and commercial properties and consequently, passenger lift auto-dialler communication.
