As Head of Façade Access at D2E, Phil leads a team of experienced designers and engineers who are passionate about delivering practical, well-considered façade access solutions. Working across projects of every scale and sector, he helps clients navigate complex access challenges by combining technical expertise with clear, straightforward advice that supports informed design decisions.
Phil joined the façade access and vertical transportation industry in 2007, bringing with him a background in design engineering, three-dimensional visualisation and product design. This unique combination of skills enables him to quickly identify potential access risks, communicate the impact of design proposals, and develop efficient, integrated solutions that balance safety, functionality and architectural intent.
Throughout his career, Phil has built extensive expertise across a diverse range of developments, from commercial offices and residential schemes to large-scale mixed-use projects and international developments. He is particularly passionate about improving the way technical information is communicated, using visualisation and coordinated design to help clients and project teams better understand complex façade access strategies.
His portfolio includes landmark projects such as Goldman Sachs' new London campus, where he led the façade access strategy for the one million square foot development, designing both conventional and bespoke systems, including concealed permanent access solutions and specialist glass replacement strategies for complex internal spaces.
Phil holds an MSc in Design Engineering from Middlesex University and a BA (Hons) in Design Futures from the University of Wales, Newport. His combination of technical knowledge, creative problem-solving and collaborative approach continues to support D2E in delivering safe, practical and innovative façade access solutions for clients across the built environment.
