Darren Lancaster
Associate
Darren joined D2E in 2019 as an associate, bringing over 24 years of experience in the vertical transportation industry. With extensive expertise in Schindler equipment, Darren played a key role in the Field Quality and Excellence Department, leading the testing and fault diagnosis of lift units across London. He holds an NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering Maintenance and is currently pursuing an APM Project Management qualification.
At D2E, Darren leads prestigious projects, providing project assurance for complex lift and escalator installations. He recently oversaw the delivery of over 200 units at the iconic Battersea Power Station, a Grade II listed building, and completed the lift package at The Forge, London’s first net-zero building. Darren’s expertise also includes super-tall buildings, having managed the flagship 200-meter South Quay Plaza 4 Tower for Berkeley Homes. His responsibilities encompass conducting initial surveys, feasibility studies, preparing specifications for turnkey projects, and managing the full lifecycle of lift projects at D2E.
Internally at D2E, Darren is an integral member of the Health and Well-being Team, promoting key activities for all staff. He is responsible for internal training and supports D2E's project assurance services, delivering A2K™ training to various team members. He actively participates in training sessions, conferences, and factory visits to stay informed on the latest industry developments, including visits to Schindler's factory in Ebikon and Kone's escalator consolidation centre in Keighley.
In addition to his technical responsibilities, he is actively involved in mentoring and training junior engineers, sharing his extensive knowledge and experience to help develop the next generation of porfessionals in the VT industry.
HIs role as an author and his active contribution to technical journals for lift symposiums, reflecting his commitement to advancing the vertical transportation industry. His ongoing involvement in industry events reinforces D2E's reputation for excellence and highlights his leadership in driving innovation and knowledge within the field.
