Michael joined D2E in 2013, transitioning from a background in Military Engineering to Facade Access, where he quickly became a key player in the Design team. In 2023, he was entrusted with the crucial role of Facade Access Design. Mike holds an NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, specialising in Building Maintenance Units, and completed an FdSc in Lift Engineering in 2017. His commitment to safety and professionalism is demonstrated by his NEBOSH certification. Mike's dedication to continuous learning and raising industry standards sets him apart as a leader within D2E.
Beyond engineering, Mike has led D2E's Health and Safety team since 2016, achieving ISO 45001 accreditation and implementing data-driven tools for hazard reporting. He developed the company’s H&S training program and cultivated a strong safety culture, establishing D2E as a benchmark for excellence.
Mike specialises in complex Building Maintenance Units (BMUs) and devising maintenance strategies for challenging façades. His expertise has ensured efficient solutions for prestigious projects like Nova, St Mary's Axe, Battersea Power Station, 20 Fenchurch Street, and the Piccadilly Lights facade access system, further cementing his reputation as a leading authority in Facade Access and maintenance.
