Umair joined D2E in 2018, bringing with him a master’s degree in advanced Material Science. Building on his expertise, Umair furthered his education by completing a Master’s in Lift Engineering from Northampton University in 2024. Since joining D2E, Umair has gained diverse experience and has successfully provided vertical transportation consultancy services across various D2E design projects including the modernisation and replacement of existing buildings. In addition, Umair has also been involved in the asset management of lifts, escalators, and BMUs at the iconic Battersea Power Station.
Umair has also been instrumental in upholding one of D2E's core values: Ethics. As an ethics officer for two years, he ensured compliance across operations, and D2E was recognised with a silver award by CSR. Umair is passionate about traffic and feasibility studies, ensuring clients receive the most optimum outcomes. His expertise in this area has earned him recognition as an expert in the industry.
Currently, Umair is heavily focused on supporting several giga-projects in Saudi Arabia, leveraging his knowledge to contribute to these landmark developments. In addition to his work in the Middle East, Umair has contributed to projects for educational institutions in Milton Keynes and Abu Dhabi, further showcasing his versatility and commitment to excellence in vertical transportation and asset management.
Looking ahead, Umair plans to pursue his professional qualification with CIBSE. He envisions D2E becoming the foremost authority in vertical transportation expertise, contributing to some of the world’s most remarkable buildings both in the UK and internationally. Based in D2E’s Manchester office, Umair continues to lead with dedication and innovation in his field.
