Paul Burns

Paul Burns joined D2E in 2013, bringing over 20 years of Vertical Transportation experience. Initially starting as an associate, he quickly advanced to Associate Director and, in 2023, was promoted to Design Director, overseeing both Vertical Transportation and Facade Access with a team of over 5 direct reports.

Paul’s career began in the steel industry, where he trained as a Metallurgist, gaining extensive experience in heavy industry manufacturing and global account management. In 2005, he transitioned to the Lift and Escalator industry, where he held various roles, including major Project Sales, Maintenance Operations Management, and Business Change Management.

Paul's key achievements include his work on the 40 Leadenhall project, where he developed the Vertical Transportation strategy and supported client fit-outs. He also played a crucial role in the Battersea Power Station project, managing design changes as the building transitioned from residential to commercial spaces.

At D2E, Paul is driven by the company’s pragmatic approach, strategic insight, and emphasis on ethics, impartiality, and customer satisfaction. He has contributed to the industry through published papers, including at the CTBUH China Conference in 2016, and is set to present at the 2024 Lift Symposium.

With a strong background in both the steel and vertical transportation industries, Paul’s leadership and expertise are integral to D2E’s continued success in vertical transportation and facade access.
